Getting Here Safely
Mountain Travel
Roading and weather conditions on Mt Ruapehu can change rapidly due to NZTA and Mt Ruapehu operations. All guests must check the road status and weather conditions before travelling, and continue to monitor updates throughout the day.

Welcome to the Levin Waiopehu Skiing, Tramping & Outdoors Lodge — your base on the mountain.
The Lodge
Our ski lodge is located on Mt Ruapehu on the Whakapapa ski field — just 5 minutes from the top overnight carpark. This is our LWTC Lodge looking at it from the top carpark.

When driving up, look for the first building on your right. Walk from your car to the bottom of this building and follow the path or red and white markers.

Overnight Parking
Please ensure your vehicle is not parked overnight in Car Park 1 or Car Park 3 — vehicles left in these areas will be towed. Overnight parking is permitted in Car Park 2 or on the roadside opposite the car park.
Finding The Lodge
From the carpark, follow the red and white markers to the lodge. The walk takes approximately 5 minutes. Look for the distinctive lodge below the ridge line.

What To Bring
Sleeping Bag or Bedding
Sheets and pillowcases are provided on all beds. Bring your own duvet, sleeping bag, or additional blankets for warmth.
Milk & Bread
Please bring enough milk and bread for your stay. Bread is used for toast and other breakfast items.
Special Dietary Items
Bring anything specific to your own dietary requirements. The kitchen is communal and well-equipped.

Essential if you are arriving after dark. The path from the carpark to the lodge is unlit.
Sturdy Footwear
Wear boots or solid shoes when walking to and from the lodge, especially if there is snow or ice on the ground.

We highly recommend you bring chains for your vehicle.
If you do not have chains, they can be hired at various places on your journey.

Dinner on Arrival Night
Planning to be in for dinner on your first night? Please notify our Booking Officer by
8 PM the day before you arrive by email or text.

Helping Out
Our family-style lodge runs on teamwork. During your stay you'll be asked to pitch in with a chore or two — cooking, dishes, cleaning, and the like.
Check-in & Checkout
We have a loose checkout-by-10 AM rule. If you're there before this time, you're very welcome to come in and leave your bags in the reading room.
Custodian
Through the winter season a Custodian is on duty. They'll give you a safety briefing at the earliest convenient time after you arrive, and are there to help — please feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
Drying Room
A drying room is available to dry your clothes and wet gear overnight.
Refund Policy
Cancellations must be made at least two weeks before your check-in date to be eligible for a refund. We understand that unexpected situations can arise, and if you experience extenuating circumstances, please get in touch. The committee reserves the right to uphold the refund policy, but every request is taken seriously and reviewed with care.
